Mary Jane Watson has never liked Venom. Unsurprisingly, on two occasions Venom specifically terrorised her to get at Peter Parker. There has been reconciliation since, and various versions of Mary Jane have even worn the symbiote suit. But there is certainly a coolness between Mary Jane and Venom, or so it has been portrayed. But how does Venom feel about her? As part of the current Venom War, Peter Parker, Spider-Man has found himself back with the symbiote, though they are retaining their distinct personalities, they are not bonding together, not again. And, with Mary Jane in her Jackpot superheroic identity, Venom has been introduced to someone else in Venom War: Spider-Man #2 by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and Greg Land.

With Paul Rabin, boyfriend and man in the chair, sorting out the technology that allows Mary Jane to summon random superpowers by chance. Or, at least, mostly by chance.

And Venom gets to say the sort of thing to Mary Jane about Paul that Peter just… cannot. Maybe they are more bonded than we thought… as Venom knows how Peter Parker really feels.

Mary Jane may be with Paul. Peter Parker may be kissing other women now. But Venom knows what the heart wants. And maybe, just maybe, he can find a way to get to Mary Jane as well…

… she just hit the Venom Jackpot.
