Invincible Red Sonja #1 Doubles Its Orders On FOC
Bleeding Cool often likes to cover the swings and roundabouts, the bells and whistles that is FOC – Final Order Cut-Off time – when retailers are able to increase or decrease already-place orders for upcoming comics. And when publishers unveil new variant covers or deals in encourage retailers to increase orders. And sometimes it works, though doesn't work as much as some publishers might wish it would.
However, for Dynamite Entertainment, it appears they have done rather well from a recent FOC, with their new Invincible Red Sonja launch from Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Moritat almost doubles orders of Invincible Red Sonja #1. Turns out pirates, mermaids, princesses are just the in thing right now.
Because the comic book in question has initial orders of over 21,000 but after FOC, found themselves with over 40,000 orders – and a call to the printers to double the print run. Something they will no doubt be pleased with after last year's comicsgategate events.
Invincible Red Sonja #1 will be published on the 5th of May – and by the sounds of it, it should not be hard to find a copy now. Might issue 2 receive similar largesse from comic book stores?
