Jim Lee: Milestone Relaunch On DC's Earth-M Will Be Codified In Next Few Months
It's been two years since DC first announced that they would be bringing back Milestone as a line of comics set in the DC Multiverse in a world designated Earth-M.
When we last checked in with DC's Milestone relaunch, Reginald Hudlin said that, contrary to past DC claims that his schedule was causing delays, the delays were all on DC's side:
"This is Reginald Hudlin, and I am certainly not the problem. I've written hundreds of pages, and Denys has drawn some beautiful art. Other high level writers and artists are ready to go. The hold up is with DC. But we are fixing that challenge."
At the DC Publishers panel today, DC co-publisher Jim Lee said that the Milestone relaunch would be "codified" in a few months, whatever that means. But it's definitely still happening, with Lee reiterating later in the panel that the stories would take place in the alternate universe of Earth-M. We'll keep you updated if we learn any more.
Bleeding Cool reporter Nick Kazden was live on the scene at the panel, and we've been bringing you breaking news as it happens. In addition to this Milestone news, we've learned about an Arkham Asylum sequel from Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham, and Nazi-punching Wonder Woman: Earth One sequel, part of a trilogy. We also heard about a new publishing line of "evergreen" stories for older readers, with BIG talent in the vein of Neil Gaiman. And we also found out that DC has had discussions about creating a Marvel Unlimited-style digital subscription service for its extensive back catalog.
His full panel report will be available shortly.
