Marvel Making More Fall Of X Announcements Today
Marvel will be announcing the creative teams for the new series Astonishing Iceman, Dark X-Men and Realm Of X, in the next few hours.
Last weekend, Bleeding Cool scooped Marvel's Fall Of X announcements by a matter of hours. They are taking no such chances this weekend by issuing a bunch of pre-announcement spoilers, that they will be announcing the creative teams for the new series Astonishing Iceman, Dark X-Men and Realm Of X, in Krakoan language.
That will be in about twenty minutes and then on the hour after that. At which point I will be cycling through London. So what do we know of can guess in advance? Well Steve Foxe tweeted his own teaser…
We'd heard that he might be on Astonishing X-Men, but our reply as such saw Steve Orlando reply "You're the cutest, Rich." Read into that what you will. We also hear that Realm Of X refers to the Ten Realms or the Tenth Realm so expect something related to Asgard or Angela. And Dark X-Men? Your guess is as good as mine.
Okay, time to get on the bicycle. See you later.
The image by Bryan Hitch does also mirror the classic Alan Davis/Mark Farmer image from one of the first X-Men crossovers back in the day, Fall Of The Mutants, but also has the bodies making the shape of the X-Men logo. Of course, they only had three comic books to crossover back then.
First teased at NYCC, Fall Of X will be an overarching storyline impacting every X-Men title and the Marvel Universe as we know it and represents a crucial chapter of the Krakoa era, which began in Jonathan Hickman's House Of X and Powers Of X. Note, it's not the end of it. Fall of X will be taking place around the same time as the Hellfire Gala, which will have a real-life version play out at San Diego Comic-Con courtesy of D23.
Teases in Invincible Iron Man detail an upcoming war for mutantkind. Orchis is likely to be a main antagonist. It is also worth noting that Marvel Studios appear to be about to reveal their own plans for X-Men on TV and movie screens – will some synergy be needed?
