Marvel Steps Up Advertising For Avengers Vs X-Men
It's a truth universally acknowledged that Marvel Comics doesn't like paying for advertising. They prefer news venues to cover them because they're Marvel and, to be fair, it's generally worked. The DC relaunch may have changed that a little, however. At the time Marvel reps mocked DC's spending… but now, with DC having ten of the top ten, Marvel want those top spots back. And Avengers Vs X-Men is the way to do just that.
So it's time to break out the ads. By buying skins at CBR and Newsarama. Which are pretty expensive… and as I start, are the beginning of Marvel's investment to push the sales of crossovers, both to existing comic book readers and the casual browser, across media. And so it begins…
Right now, BleedinG Cool appears to be advertising Jim Woodring T-Shirts and Hoodies. Just saying.
