Spoilers! This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, the 4th of May, and sees comic book publishers set out their wares. Including Marvel Comics and the From The Ashes revamp for the X-Men titles. But how will Marvel pitch that to Free Comic Book Day attendees? Well, basically… what the trailer looked like.
We have Jubilee revisiting the Xavier Mansion, being repurposed in a very mutant-unfriendly manner.
One of those dragons was her adopted son, Shogo Lee. Who turned into a dragon while in Otherworld. What has happened to him? We are none the wiser.
So, yes, we have Doctor Corina Ellis and Phillip in the Mansion. New characters it seems, with the Doctor clearly in control, despite Phillip having the telepathic abilities.
I am not sure what is worse, the subjugation of the mutant race, or not respecting the wood. You have to have respect for wood.
And there are mutants still around and about, just not ones that even a mother will admit to.
And shibboleths, signals, membership signs to be shared, but kept private. Oppressed Christians and the fish signs in the time of Rome, freemasons in a secular setting, it's what a community hiding within another community can do for solidarity.
And mutants have one too. Yes, it's also the Spider-Man thwip but no, he's still not a mutant. But back in the mansion, there are two notable prisoners it seems.
Is that Hope? Jean? Madelyne? The mouth covering suggests Siryn. But she is not imprisoned nearly as much as the second…
Inmate X. Xavier? Magneto? Jean Grey? Certainly someone of real note. Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, the new X-Men #1 launches on the 10th of July.
