Ninjak #22 Vs G.I. Joe #21… Which Is The Better Silent Ninja?

silent02

As we've known since 1984—the year that Larry Hama and Steve Leialoha gave us "Silent Interlude" in G.I. Joe #21—ninjas and silent issues make the perfect match in comics.

It's no surprise then, to see today's Ninjak #22 from Valiant Entertainment forgo dialogue or narrative captions for a special, nearly silent stealth adventure by Matt Kindt and CAFU.

We're given some brief mission intel from Ninjak's contact at MI-6, Neville Alcott, but from there Ninjak's off to the races to locate his ex-girlfriend/bitter enemy, Roku. And you'd be amazed at what Ninjak can do while keeping his sardonic wit at bay.

He can dodge bazookas…

Get into fights inside tunnels…

And take on a small army of killer monks.

It seems that silence really is golden. We should all give an extra round of applause to CAFU for the spot-on visual storytelling here.

Will Ninjak usurp Snake Eyes as the most effective silent ninja in comics? We'll have to let history decide…
