NYCC Isn't About Comics Anymore. It's About Books Too.
After running its previous show in May in Chicago, today ReedPOP announced that its BookCon will have a spinoff for this year's New York Comic Con as well.
BookCon @ NYCC will bring run book-based programming, signings and appearances under that title throughout the show running October 6th to 9th, and hosted at the Hudson Mercantile, 500 West 36th Street. Am NYCC pass will still be required for entry.
Guests for BookCon @ NYCC will include children's author Ann M. Martin (The Baby-Sitter's Club series, Missy Piggle-Wiggle and the Whatever Cure), YA sensation Danielle Paige (Dorothy Must Die, Stealing Snow), R.L. Stine (Goosebumps, Young Scrooge: A Very Scary Christmas Story), Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath), and Naomi Novik (Uprooted, theTemeraire series).
Publishers such as Gallery, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, Bloomsbury, Del Rey and others, will also be exhibiting. Gallery will also showcase the new Millennials of New York book by Connor Toole and Alec Macdonald. Created by the top editors at Elite Daily, Millennials of New York is a satirical social media phenomenon in the photo essay style of Humans of New York that parodies the plights of millennials today such as waiting for a brunch table or taking the perfect selfie.
The stand-alone BookCon will continue and will return to New York at the Javits Center on June 3 and 4, 2017.
