One Page Of Neil Gaiman & Sam Kieth's Sandman #1 At Auction For $48K

As part of a massive auction of premium comic books and original artwork at Heritage Auctions, taking place today, there is a page of original artwork from the very first issue of Sandman, featuring Dream while captured by his assailants for decades, written by Neil Gaiman and drawn by Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. With bids up to $48,000 before the auction begins today, there is plenty of room for that value to grow. Dream big. You even get to see amends and editorial demands to get the character's clothes correct. It is joined in a few days by a page from Sandman #65 drawn by Marc Hempel, and signed by Hempel and Gaiman, and the cover to Sandman Dream Hunters by P Craig Russell. With the Sandman TV series to drop on Netflix later this year, expect The Great Eye Of Sauron to turn towards these Sandman items and start bidding them up.
