Phoenix Comicon And Supply Pod Team For Convention Specific Mystery Box
Random mystery boxes like Lootcrate have been becoming more and more popular. Where the original started out with just the nerd culture, they started getting more specific into genres like horror boxes, science fiction boxes, and now were down to publisher specific boxes like the Marvel Collectors Corps / DC Legends of Collectors from Funko. So what's next?
How about a convention-specific mystery box?
This years Phoenix Comicon has teamed up with Supply Pod to offer a mystery box for con goers. With a theme of Space Exploration, the box will also contain an exclusive shirt. Estimated value of all items are $85 while the box is selling for $39.99. And there will only be 1200 boxes offered.
Also, 10 pairs of full-access passes for the Phoenix Comicon 2017 will be randomly inserted into boxes.
And you don't have to be at the con to get the boxes, they will ship them to you. You can order them here.
I love this idea. I don't know what is in this particular box, bu I think it could be a great thing for conventions to include a t-shirt, maybe a few exclusive comics from creators at the show, a sketch book, maybe a novel from a guest, etc. Even change up the boxes so that there are a few different ones. This will give attendees reasons to visit creators they may have not visited normally and to get together with other attendees to swap items.
I'd expect to see more of these boxes in the future.
