Preview A Selection Of Deviant Virtues From A Wife And Husband
Deviant Virtues is a trilogy of short stories written by Rose Le Guirec and drawn by Regis Loisel, a husband and wife team and published by Humanoids that "explores sensuality, offering unique insights into rituals, festivals and erotica."
Basically it' a little on the naughty side.
In The Offering a curvaceous young nymph is offered as a sacrifice to a carnivorous, mythical, monster, only for rescue to come in an unlikely form. The Bonfires of St. John tells the voyeuristic mis-adventures of a Middle Ages virgin. While The Ceremony is set in Venice at beginning of the 20th century, when a young, pregnant woman joins her lover during a mysterious Venetian masquerade ball.
This poetic tome blends comics and literature in a thoughtful, intelligent, arousing way, with exquisitely rendered Rubenesque women. These stories reveal a previously unseen erotic side of one of Europe's greatest comics creators.
Regis Loisel is well known for his Peter Pan graphic novel, translated into English by Soaring Penguin, his comic The Quest for the Time-Bird AKA Roxanna translated by NBM and won the Angouleme Grand Prix back 2006.
While Rose Le Guirec is a pseudonym for Marie-Hélène Loisel, who recently contributed to the women's rights comics anthology, Along The Way She Meets… for Amnesty International).
