Alan Moore To Headline James Randi Benefit With Richard Dawkins
TAM, or The Amazing Meeting is now an annual fundraising conference that raises money for the James Randi Educational Foundation, which promotes;
critical thinking by reaching out to the public and media with reliable information about pseudoscientific, paranormal and supernatural ideas so widespread in our society today.
Richard Dawkins is of course author of The Selfish Gene, a volume that popularised the reinterpretation of Darwinian thinking to explain altruism. He is also the number one evangelical atheist in the media.
Alan Moore, of course, worships a snake god, describes himself as a magician and has outlined a number of spells that he has cast.
Which should be interesting.
The conference also includes James Randi, naturally, and Graham Lineham, Cory Doctorow, Robin Ince, Melinda Gebbie and all sorts of interesting people. including guest star Stephen Fry It will be held on the weekend of October 16th-17th in London.
