Gail Simone And Jim Califiore To Start Their Own Kickstarter Funded Comic, Leaving MegalopolisKickstarter has attracted some big names to its crowdsourced funding model. From Michael Zulli to Steve Niles to Ben Templesmith to Dave Sim.

But I understand from Ann Harkey, attending Heroescon in Charlotte, NC for Bleeding Cool, that for the first time, a writer currently working for one of the Big Two will be launching a Kickstarter project.

Gail Simone is reteaming with her Secret Six artist, Jim Califiore, on a new book, Leaving Megalopolis.

Simone currents writes Batgirl for DC Comics, but Califiore hasn't had work there since the DC New 52 began. Nevertheless, Secret Six, and his work on an earlier iteration of Batgirl has considerable fan following, just the kind to help fund a successful Kickstarter.

And with Gail writing, I'd consider that a done deal. Please take my money.
