Gareb Shamus To Expand Wizard World Up To 25 Shows In 2011

As Bruckenheimer visited WonderCon, Gareb Shamus set out his stall for Wizard World Anaheim. And dropped a very interesting statistic.

Shamus told the LA Times,

"We want to create an atmosphere that's different than San Diego, one that has real access to the stars and is about celebrating these characters in many media, which includes Hollywood films but goes well beyond that," Shamus said. "San Diego has done a spectacular job. It took them 40 years to build it up to what it is. But there's other ways of doing things, and people are responding to that. We have 12 shows that we started or bought, and next year we expect it to be 20 to 25. There's a lot more coming."

Twenty to twenty-five WizardWorld shows next year. They doubled shows for 2010. They're doubling them again for 2011. By 2012 could we see a Wizard World in every state, one every weekend through the year? The Mayans were right, the world is ending.

If you have a small convention in the US, expect a call from Shamus' people… they may want to turn it into a slightly larger one.
