'Killing Eve' S02, Ep06: "I Hope You Like Missionary" Seems a Tad Personal (PREVIEW)

Eve Polastri's (Sandra Oh) entire world was turned upside-down during the events of "Smell Ya Later", which found the enterpising MI6 operative tricking (she thought) Villanelle (Jodie Comer) into working with Operation Mandalay to get answers out of a killer they have in their custody.

Turns out the Ghost (Jung Sun den Hollander) is actually terrified of Villanelle, but getting the two killers face to face was going to take some finesse.

Eve's solution was one of the more entertainingly stupid things I have ever seen a character indulge in on a television show, but it tracks so well with her obsession with Villanelle that it didn't feel forced in the slightest.

Eve put out a hit on herself, ensuring that Villanelle got the contract. This led to an incredibly tense face to face that hammered home the hazardous position she had put herself in, all in the name of a less boring life.

Niko (Owen McDonnell) found himself in a similarly ill-advised situation, facing off against Villanelle in a fool hardy attempt to convince the assassin to leave him and his wife alone. That's… not going to happen.

The episode ends with Villanelle at MI6 headquarters, having been (apparently) brought on board to help Operation Mandalay investigate the Twelve.

The Twelve, for those of you that missed the few fleeting mentions, is a secret, shadowy organization that may or may not rule the world. They were behind a good number of Villanelle's kills in the first season, and they sent the murderous cleaners to her flat in Paris to make sure nothing led back to them.

Now we're in for a very entertaining odd couple situation, as Villanelle and Eve are literally obsessed with each other, but will that obsession survive the day to day quirks of actually working with someone?

Does Villanelle have the patience to make it through a single day at an office job?

We'll have more answers on Sunday, May 12 when AMC and BBC America bring us the next episode of Killing Eve–  "I Hope You Like Missionary", which is the most ominous episode title I've seen in 2019 so far! Here's a tease:
