Legendary Pictures, Joe Roth And Mike Slate Do Deal With GeekChicDaily
Thomas Tull's Legendary Pictures have completed a "strategic deal". And Joe Roth (ex-Chairman of Fox and Disney) of Revolution Studios and Mike Slate (Microsoft, Apple), Mark Surfas (Gamespy), Kathy Vrabeck (Legendary Digital) and Allen DeBevoise (Machinima Chairman) have all made significant investment.
And it's all over the daily e-mail GeekChicDaily, created by Peter Levin and Gareb Shamus – though an anonymous ex-Wizard employee seems keen to emphasise that Gareb wants out.
They join current investors including Bob Pittman (Clear Channel), Peter Guber (Sony) and Yoshimoto Kogyo.
And co-founder of Thrillist, Ben Lerer has joined GeekChicDaily on the board, along with Pete Sheinbaum (DailyCandy), Andrew Russell (Pilot Group) and CEO Jack Sullivan (Broadway Video).
Bet they've never paid out of their own pocket for a ticket to San Diego Comic Con in their lives…
