Not only is he now a university lecturer, not only is he creating a line of early 20th century prominent female biocomics, but now Fox is creating a pilot based on his pre-Hate series, The Bradleys, for a new prime time animated series. Considering this series can be seen as a forebearer of aspects of The Simpsons, it's quite interesting to see the circle closed.

Less than two weeks until The Golden Book, the 50th Anniversary volume of Asterix And Obelix a collection of short stories by Albert Uderzo and the late Rene Goscinny. This book is staying under wraps, there is no official cover yet (the pictured cover is just a mock up) and the content is still unknown. For a book expected to sell millions instantly, being published simultaneously in many languages, that's pretty good…

Mark Evanier has an update on the health of San Diego Comic Con founder Sheldon Dorf. He writes;

For months now, he's been in a hospital in San Diego with a pretty long list of ailments including kidney failure and intermittent heart attacks. I don't like to write someone off while their heart is still beating but his condition is pretty bad.

Mark links to the website Shel Dorf Tribute, a living tribute to the man by people who knew him, inviting contributions.

Were you worried, when picking up your copy of Image United that you wouldn't be able to get the cover you wanted? Pined for a Savage Dragon but all the shop had left were Shadowhawk? Yearned for Spawn but could only get an Invincible? Well, rather than allocating covers, with each shop getting a sixth of their order in each cover, retailers are now going to be allowed to order each cover individually. So, now everyone will want the Invincible and Shadowhawk cover as as they may be more collectable now!

I love comics.

Have fun at Baltimore guys… we have our man on the convention floor. Maybe he can pick me up a copy of the second issue of Stuff Of Legend from Th3rd World Studios. Or maybe just a Neal Adams Superman tumbler!
