Stan's Bach? Make Sweet Music With Stan Lee For Free

The previously promoted Stan Lee Documentary needs a classical orchestral background. But doesn't want to pay for it. So they're looking for Marvel fans with a few strings to their bow, holes in their flute and most definitely non-union to volunteer to provide the score.

So if you'd like to work with the multi-multi millionaire Stan Lee, the multi-millionaire composer Kostas Christides on the multi-national Warner Brothers' Eastwood Stage in Mid-March, well, the the full job listing is below.

I am writing to you from the offices of the Stan Lee Documentary WITH GREAT POWER – THE STAN LEE STORY. We are contacting you about participating in a (90) piece scoring session!

Stan as you may or may not know is the Marvel Comics icon that created many of Marvel's most beloved characters including: Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Thor, Daredevil, and over (500) other characters!!!

We are finishing the legal phase of the documentary right now and fervently working to make the film the most comprehensive documentary on Stan "The Man" Lee ever. We will lock picture in February, after an interview with Sir Anthony Hopkins for our THOR segment.

The scoring session will take place in mid-March. We would like to know if you are available and interested in working with us on the scoring session. Remember, you must be skilled at your craft, be non-union and can sight-read music. And if you know of any other proficient non-union musicians who would be interested in this project, have them contact us as well. We are assembling a (90) piece non-union orchestral scoring session for a 1 day session at Warner Brothers' Eastwood Stage which has been placed on hold for us in Mid-March!!!

As most documentaries do, we are operating on an extremely low budget and we are asking musicians to come on board for a 1 day scoring session pro-bono/gratis/free. We have a very talented composer, Kostas Christides, who served in the music dept. on SPIDER-MAN 3, GHOST RIDER, etc. that will write all of the orchestral music that we need.

We will be on a professional scoring stage – The Clint Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank. Eastwood has scored more than 20 of his films here, including the Oscar-winning: UNFORGIVEN, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL, BIRD, PALE RIDER, THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, MAGNUM FORCE and DIRTY HARRY.

The stage, revered as one of the most significant, positive, creative and acoustically strong scoring environments that ever existed, was used to score hundreds of films including such notable greats as: CASABLANCA, THE TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE, THE MALTESE FALCON, YANKEE DOODLE DANDY, REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, COOL HAND LUKE, DIRTY HARRY, DAYS OF WINE & ROSES, LETHAL WEAPON, LETHAL WEAPON 2, BATMAN, BATMAN RETURNS, GREMLINS, FREE WILLY as well as multi-award-winning animated television series like: Steven Spielberg Presents PINKY & THE BRAIN.

A short list of the noted composers who have recorded their scores on this stage includes: Max Steiner, Franz Waxman, Lennie Niehaus, Eric Wolfgang Korngold, Ray Heindorf, Dimitri Tiomkin, Alex North, Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, James Newton Howard, Jerry Goldsmith, Michel Legrand, Alfred Newman, John Williams, Maurice Jarre, Quincy Jones, Danny Elfman and Michael Kamen.

The orchestra will consist of (90) non-union musicians. We will have a (6) hour session. (2) three hour blocks with a lunch served in the middle. Lunch will be provided, and of course you would be credited in the film's end crawl. Also when the project is complete you will receive a complimentary DVD of the program.

If you are a talented musician who can sight-read but does not have a lot of experience on a scoring stage and is looking to gain more, then this is a remarkable chance for you! If you were ever, or are now, a big Stan Lee fan that read his comics growing up or you enjoy and appreciate the comic book movie blockbusters Hollywood is churning out based on Stan's characters, then this event will be priceless! His impact on modern pop culture is unmistakable.
