Storm Lion – The Morning After The Night Before
Maria Carbado, art director of Storm Lion Studios, who recently joined from DC Comics, commented about yesterday's story about the studio being shut down before San Diego Comic Con. She states;
I am extremely disappointed about the current situation, but we are sorting things out in Singapore and discussing the company's future direction.
However, I will still be attending the San Diego comic con and all my business meetings are not cancelled. See you all at the show.
I'm also pretty sympathetic for one comics/screen writer Mike Le who left his VP position at Tyrese Gibson's company to join StormLion at a VP level mere weeks ago.
Head honcho Edmund Shern has been posting on the Facebook site. He writes;
Dear fans, this is perhaps the hardest facebook post i'll ever have to write. As some of you may have seen on bleedingcool.com, we are indeed in the process of shutting down. Is this the end? I honestly don't know. I do know that I am fighting to save this company with every single breath left in me.
So folks, if you know of anyone who would be willing/interested to take on a transmedia studio with amazing stories, amazing talent and more, please contact me at edmund at stormlion.com we are literally looking for someone with a million dollars to take us from here through our launch and into what we have been dreaming.
I want to take this opportunity to all my wonderful staff, my friends and you fans for believing in us and encouraging us. It seems such a crime to not even be able to launch our first comicon and showcase all the wonderful things we have been gestating. Wherever this road takes me and us, I shall always be grateful. but don't play the closing credits yet…I am still fighting. Watch this space…
