The SML Podcast – Talking MAGFest 8.5 With The Organizers
By Joe Cammisa
[audio:http://joecam.net/SML/SML-e073.mp3]Monday night is here and it's time for The SML Podcast Episode 73: 8.5 is Coming, here on Bleeding Cool!
This week we are joined by Dominic Cerquetti and Paul Good, two of the guys behind the scenes organizing MAGFest!
The show this week was almost drastically different than was is out because not even an hour before we were set to record, it was announced that MAGFest 8.5 is happening this September!
Knowing what huge MAGFest fans we are, it should be no surprise that we scrapped everything and instead got Paul and Dom on the show to tell us what MAGFest 8.5 is and why you hopefully already have your ticket.
Hear about what led to the creation of MAGFest 8.5, what you can and shouldn't expect from the upcoming event, some fun stories about MAGFest history, and maybe an unconfirmed hint at what is in the future for MAGFest. You do NOT want to miss this show!
We also, of course, talk about what games we've been playing recently, go over some brief Dead Island news, and Paul and Kris try to set up a play date with Natural Selection 2.
Check out the mp3 of the show here or check out the YouTube version.
If that doesn't work for you, you can check us out on iTunes and subscribe to us and get all of the episodes a few days early!
Music this week is a handful of songs from the new game Shovel Knight from Yacht Club Games. We've got one game from Jake 'virt' Kaufman from the OST and three songs from the remix album, both of which are available on bandcamp for whatever price you want to give.
Super Square – No Running Sense
Jake 'virt' Kaufman – A Return to Order (Ending Theme)
norg – Shovel Knight
Jake 'virt' Kaufman – Hyper Camelot
Thanks for checking us out and we'll see you next Monday with a new episode!
