Rob Liefeld Says DC Comics Is Doing An Ultimate Comics

Honestly, if I could, I would hire Rob Liefeld as a gossip columnist for Bleeding Cool. He has sources and connections that I just can't reach, and is also happy to spill them occasionally, especially on his podcast.
So, yeah, he did say that DC Comics was going to close five years ago, but in August he said that Jason Aaron would be the new writer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at IDW. So there's that.
In his most recent Robservations podcast, as well as talking more about Last Blood, he talked about upcoming plans at Marvel and DC Comics in 2024.
He said "I think Marvel's got a whole new rebrand, refocus on the X-Men, that's what they are shutting down the Krakoa stuff… the new X-Men stuff will be good enough to warrant some legit excitement and if anyone of those planes legit lands, that they're going to have something…"
"DC is absolutely doing an ultimate reboot, I know people at the helm, the people in charge, a lot of people called, a lot of people solicited to be a part of it. I have mostly spoken to people who didn't choose to go on board. I don't think it's as far along as the Marvel stuff."
From what I understand, it's not a full line reboot but the Ultimate Marvel comparison may be a valid one. Last year I reported from New York Comic Con that "the next stage in their publishing plan is to follow the current Dawn Of DC initiative. It has been compared in gossip to the Marvel Ultimate Universe. And it may see Scott Snyder, Batman, Justice League and Swamp Thing writer, and showrunner of DC's Dark Metal events, to make his return to the DC Comics. This is after setting up many creator-owned projects across Dark Horse, IDW, ComiXology, Substack and Image Comics, as well as the upcoming Wytches TV show back in production. And that this new DC publishing initiative would involve a new reality for DC Comics characters to play out in.
Looks like Rob Liefeld may have heard something similar…
