Solar Flare Is Back For More

James Haick writes for Bleeding Cool:

Back in January, Rich Johnston was kind enough to allow me, an aspiring writer, to post an article about my comic called Solar Flare (https://bleedingcool.com/2015/01/25/solar-flare/). The story takes place in a world where all electronics are no longer working because of a large X-class solar flare. The primary goal is for the group of main characters to travel safely (in a world with no functioning modern transportation) from Florida to Tennessee to deliver valuable information to the government that will help save millions of lives.

Solar Flare #1 Dual Cover PictureAt that time, issue #1 was still in the early production stages, and I was hoping to get it printed by a major publisher after submitting it to nearly everyone. I had assembled an amazing group of talented people, namely artist Branko Jovanovic, colorist Song Ye, and letterer/editor Michael Lagace. After a few weeks of hearing absolutely nothing, I decided to take the advice of some friends and try the Kickstarter route. They couldn't have been more right.  Issue #1 succeeded in raising over $3,800 in February, and I am happy to say that the books have just arrived for shipment!  As a thank you to all the Bleeding Cool readers out there, I will be offering SIGNED copies of Solar Flare #1 for cover price on my website. To get the deal, visit www.solarflarecomic.com.  After clicking the STORE link, select the signed copy and use the promo code "bleedingcool" at checkout.

Solar Flare Creative TeamWe have just launched our 2nd Kickstarter campaign for issue #2 that runs through June 19th.  Here's the link: http://kck.st/1PUP0x1 . Our main goal is still to be picked up by a major publisher someday soon. (Hey Skybound Entertainment, we would fit in great with your current lineup! J)  However, thanks to Kickstarter and websites like this one, we plan on continuing this ongoing series ourselves for the foreseeable future!Solar Flare ad
