Speculator Corner: Batman Secret Files #3?
There has been a lot of speculator fuss over the new character Punchline, the Joker's new girlfriend and partner in his plans. There was a lot of fuss over early cameo appearances in Batman #89 and Hell Arisen #3. Currently, Batman #89 has raw non-misprint copies sell for around $50 while Hell Arisen #3 has sold for up to $90.
Yesterday's Batman #92, with a quarter-of-a-million print run, is selling for cover price, with the 1:25 variant cover selling for around $40-$50. featuring what is intended to be her first full appearance.
But because of the shutdown, it came out (finally) on the same day as the Joker's 80th Anniversary Super-Spectacular #1, featuring a solo Punchline story, telling her origin, also selling at $10 cover price.
And Batman Secret Files #3, with a Joker's War tie-in story featuring The Joker and Punchline approaching Deathstroke, an issue that was not solicited as featuring Punchline. But is as much a valid appearance as in the other two books, with a much lower print run.
Right now there are plenty of copies on eBay for the cover price of $4.99. I am not entirely sure how long that will last when Punchline collectors realise the potential gap in their collection.
