'Superman With Machine Guns' – Tim Seeley On Writing Bloodshot and Painting Himself White (Video)
Tim Seeley is a writer known for horror, blood, humor, and building family units in his comics and now he's writing Bloodshot for Valiant; as he says "Superman with machine guns". And at ECCC, he's been talking to Bleeding Cool.
Beginning with his short story with Tomas Giorello in FCBD in May, Brett Booth and Tim will launch Bloodshot in September with a "big action epic and a spy heist" calling back to some of Bloodshot's original Valiant run in the 1990's.
Seeley believes the character works best "solo, doing what he has to do" and having to face new enemies like Blackbar, spies, and more technological enemies. Seeley plans for worldwide battles, break neck pacing, and lots of superpower groups, with Bloodshot dropped in the middle of it. "My original pitch was a 90's book, without any of the bad parts." Seeley really wants to focus on Bloodshot, getting to know the character better, and not having a lot of supporting cast to begin with. Excited for readers to read what is coming, he might shave his head, and don white face paint to look like the character. Maybe…
