BBC News Reports The Hatton Garden Job With Seventies-Style Comics

_87600300_frame0-title_high-res-v3It was a seventies style crime that needed a seventies style solution. The Hatton Bank Job in London saw old-style safecracker and bankrobbers pulled out of retirement for one last job.

Seriously. That's what happened last April when Brian Reader, Daniel Jones, John Collins, Carl Wood, William Lincoln, Hugh Doyle and Terry Perkins, mostly in their sixties and seventies – including Perkins who had already been on the run for fifteen years – burgled £14 million worth of gems and gold from safety deposit boxes.

They'll make a film, of course they will. But first, courtesy of the BBC and comic creator Adam Cadwell, we get the comic book version. In a style familiar to those who spent the seventies curled up with a boys adventure comic book….
