The Black Eyed Peas Come To New York Comic Con With The Voice Of Stan Lee

The Black Eyed Peas will be at New York Comic Con to reveal new Augmented Reality (AR) elements of their first graphic novel Masters of the Sun – The Zombie Chronicles, published by Marvel Comics, including an appearance/book signing at the Marvel booth, and on panels.

Marvel have dabbled with Augmented Reality in their comics before but went of the boil a few years ago. This version is something more ambition, and closer to what Brian Haberlin achieved with his Anomaly graphic novel – for which a sequel is to debut at New York Comic Con too.

Using a smart device, the words, characters and images in Masters of the Sun come alive, rewarding readers with bonus story elements, 3D graphics and effects, plus exclusive original music. The AR experience brings the audience into the space of this Zombie thriller, joining characters with voiced by hip hop legends – and Stan Lee.

The cast of the AR include Stan Lee, narrator;  Rakim as Master Sun; KRS One as Zulu X; Queen Latifah as Lady Nix; Mary J Blige as Emeriti;   Michael Rapaport as Jimmy Guapo; Common as Big Ap;Jamie Foxx as Saleem; Snoop Dogg as Tyrone; and Jason Isaacs as Apep. Other roles voiced by: Slick Rick, Eric B, Flavor Flav, Raekwon, Redman, Ice T, Pete Rock, Rosario Dawson.  Original music score co-composed by will.i.am, Hans Zimmer and Keith Harris.

The saga begins with the city of Los Angeles under attack by aliens, while humans are morphing into zombies. The main character, Zulu-X, who also has a penchant for hip hop, is thrust into the middle of the action-packed adventure, fighting a nefarious ancient order with the combination of wisdom and street smarts. Blending music with comics, and now animated storytelling, including an all-star cast of voice actors, "Masters of the Sun" features real-life social allegories that include L.A. gangs, hip-hop and street dance culture.

The band will be at the show from Friday to Sunday, and on Sunday will have most of their public appearances.
