The Unchanging Hair Of Wiccan In Children's Crusade #9
In the final issue of Avengers: The Children's Crusade, a group of people stand around and argue. Then another group of people sit around and mope.
That is basically the issue.
Oh there's plenty of stuff that works as a lead into Avengers Vs X-Men, there are time circles that complete, there are tributes, there is reconciliation and there is a kiss.
But best of all is Wiccan's hair. In the scene below, cropped from a page to try and avoid spoilers, eight months in the Marvel Universe passes. And Wiccan's hair stays fixed in position, not growing, not changing, but held fast.
As the child of the Scarlet Witch, this is obviously some arcane use of her hex power to alter reality and keep his follicles in the just-got-out-of-bed-but-damn-sexy look. And abuse of that power, true. But at least he looks good while he's moping.
Avengers: Children's Crusade #9 is published today from Marvel Comics. Comics courtesy of Orbital Comics of London, currently showcasing the Stripped collection in its gallery. More of that later.
