There's More Bane in "Harley Quinn" #64 Than in City Of Bane "Batman" #76

Batman began the City of Bane event in Batman #75, with Gotham's villains taking over Gotham under the command of Bane, and the cross-dimensional-travelling Thomas Wayne Batman, with Gotham Girl as his Robin. Despite featuring front and centre on the cover, Bane hardly appeared in the issue himself, only as a final narrator and then appearing on page only at the very end. And with Batman #76's cover featuring a full Bane lifting Bruce Wayne's Batman up high, ready to have his back broken, one might have suspected more from Bane – and Batman in this issue.

But no. Bruce Wayne is unconscious the entire time. And Bane does not appear once. It's all about the impact these people are having all around them as everyone comes out to play.

Including Kite Man.

Batman

Still being portrayed as the Charlie Brown who grew up to be a super-villain. While Gotham Girl masters her one punch against a superhero who disobeys his government's orders and crosses the border.

Batman

As apparently, the entire US government has done as Lex Luthor arranged and is staying out of Gotham. And, for some reason, Bane is staying out of this comic.

Only this one, mind, as Harley Quinn #64 has its own DC Year Of The Villain event crossover, in which Bane has decided everyone in Gotham be naked.

Batman

But full-face masks are okay though. But it is weird how Harley Quinn #64 reflects the cover of Batman #76 more than Batman #76 does…

"City of Bane" continues! Bane has taken over Gotham City, and Batman is nowhere to be found. At least, not a Batman anyone recognizes. It's all building to a rebellion among the bad guys who don't want to play along- and distrust in those who do! Meanwhile, a surprising ally has come to Bruce Wayne's aid, nursing him back to health so that he can get back to his city.In Shops: Aug 07, 2019
