Things To Do In London – MCM, Jeffrey Catherine Jones And Hic & Hoc
Today, from 2pm till 7pm, is the first day of the MCM London Comic Con out at the ExCel Cetre. I'm taking my girls and one of the eldest's friends to the show – and we'll probably be going by cable car!
This evening, Orbital Comics is putting on the film Better Things about the life of artist Jeffrey Catherine Jones, and I understand a number of his contemporaries may be in the audience. Orbital Comics will also have copies of the DVD and Blu Ray for sale – I understand that it will be the only store in Europe carrying the film. They also have just installed the Mark Buckingham Fables gallery.
And Gosh Comics have the launch for the second volume of the Hic & Hoc Illustrated Journal of Humour. Edited by Lizz Lunney and Joe List it's a magnificent showcase of comics talent in the UK and features the likes of Krystyna Baczynski, Jack Teagle, Luke Pearson, Gary Northfield, Becky Barnicoat, Philippa Rice, Stephen Collins, Donya Todd and Dan Berry. And tomorrow they also have a signing with Joe Sacco!
