This Is What It Looks Like When Brendan McCarthy Draws The New 52

Dial H was originally a Vertigo series by China Mieville that was hijacked by the DC Universe and used as one of the New 52 launch comics. It launched with Boy Chimney and I loved it.

It came to its end, but Villain's Month has given us the chance of an epilogue, with today's Dial E. Now it has nothing whatsoever to do with Forever Evil, but it does have a different artist on every page, and single handedly employs more female comics creators than every other DC comic book put together.

It also has Brendan McCarthy's first internal comics work for DC Comics since Solo in 2006 (he had a Jonah Hex cover in 2010). McCarthy is signing his Best Of Milligan And McCarthy book tonight at Gosh Comics in London, with a talk and Q&A. I do hope someone takes a copy of this along too.

And given Brendan's use of bright colours, and paint that reveals the materials used, what an appropriate page to give to the man…
