ThunderCats #1 Gets 170,000 Orders After Rob Liefeld Cover Drops

ThunderCats #1 by Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss from Dynamite, with its Rob Liefeld cover has got 170,000 orders from comic book stores.

Last week, before the FOC Final Order Cut-Off for comic book store orders for ThunderCats #1, Bleeding Cool reported that the comic had gotten orders for 100,000 copies, and we noted that a Rob Liefeld cover was about to drop, which might push it over 150,000. Well, we were wrong, it turns out it got 170,000 orders from comic book stores.

On his newsletter, writer Declan Shalvey said " Outside of I'd say ALL STAR BATMAN, this is the biggest selling book I've ever been attached to, and I didn't even draw it! It's pretty big news, I wish I could take credit but I think it's safe to say the book sold this much because of the works "Thunder" and "Cats" on the cover. In any case, hell I'll take the win. Soon after announcing this last weekend, Dynamite released some lovely Drew Moss art… There's more pages all over the internet if you want to see them. Dynamite went from showing no pages, to showing a bit too much if I'm being honest [half the issue is online now!] but sure look, that's not my call. It's clearly selling."

Well, let's see if we can put them all together. There was this little lot over at Bleeding Cool. And CBR. And AIPT. Bit we've glued them all together. Fourteen pages of it all.
