Todd McFarlane Will Reveal Liam Sharp Barbarian Spawn Comic àt NYCC
Todd McFarlane will reveal Liam Sharp's new Spawn comic book project at New York Comic Con on Friday the thirteenth of October.
Last month, Bleeding Cool posted that there would be Spawn news coming from Todd McFarlane and Liam Sharp for New York Comic Con. Between 1999 and 2000, Liam Sharp drew and painted fourteen issues of Spawn: The Dark Ages from Todd McFarlane Productions through Image Comics. And he told us "I can finally announce I'm doing a 'Spawn' universe book for Todd McFarlane for the first time in 25 years! I'm so excited!!! Here's the inks for oneTodd McFarlane Will Reveal Liam Sharp Barbarian Spawn Comic àt NYCC early page… No more info until NYCC (so please don't press me because I'm not going to say!!) where we'll be revealing much more. Promise! But either way, I cannot tell you how much I'm enjoying this!"
Well now we have more art, a better idea of what we are getting and when and where it will be announced. Sharp posts to Facebook, "In advance of my appearance at NYCC this year (I'll be set up at G-14 in Artist's Alley), and the upcoming details regarding my new 'Spawn' universe title for McFarlane and Image Comics (the panel is in Room 408 at 6.00pm on Friday 13th BTW which seems fitting for Spawn!) here are all the pages I've shared so far. Cheers!"
And while this is not Conan, it does seem to have quite the Barbarian feel to it. Spawn The Barbarian?

Editor-in-Chief Thomas Healy discusses the current slate of Spawn Universe projects, along with a few new announcements for the 2024 publishing schedule. Thomas, along with Spawn Universe artists Javi Fernandez, Carlo Barberi, Von Randal, and more surprise guests, will do a Q&A after the presentation with the Spawn fans in attendance. It is sure to be one HELL of a time
Valerio Giangiordano, also attending NYCC, states "I just finished working on my first, great "Spawn Universe" project. All pages inked, all covers completed, all issues delivered. I can't show anything right now…" Looks like there will be lots of Spawn announcements at New York Comic-Con this year. Maybe something about the movie as well?
