Could Valiant's Savage #1 Be the Next Divinity?

Valiant certainly is having a killer November…

In the wake of recently announced second printings for Faith #5 and Harbinger Renegade #1, we have learned that the publisher's second new series for the month – the upcoming Savage #1 by B. Clay Moore, Clayton Henry, and Lewis LaRosa — has already sold out at the Diamond level in advance of next week's November 30th release date.

The second printing will hit shelves two weeks later on December 14th.

The story of marooned football superstar, his wife, and their growing son seeking shelter and survival following a plane crash on a tropical island teeming with dinosaurs, Valiant reps have repeatedly promised that the series would feature the first appearance of "a major new hero" for Valiant's universe and one that, presumably, will have a long life even after the first series concludes.

The last time the publisher made a similar statement, they introduced Divinity by Matt Kindt and Trevor Hairline to much fanfare and 11 sold-out printings…and, in the process, gave fans and speculators something to be very happy about indeed.

Might Savage follow a similar track? Already the unlettered retailer exclusive edition, presented at the Diamond Summit in advance of this year's New York Comic Con, is already bids fetching north of $20 online

So, if you haven't reserved a copy of the first issue yet, now just might be a wise time to do so.

Savage #1 (of 4) is on sale next Wednesday from Valiant Entertainment.
