CBS Announces Gamers' Choice Awards Complete With Nominees

Apparently, CBS didn't get the note that The Game Awards exist. Or did they? The broadcast company announced today they're holding the Gamers' Choice Awards. The gaming equivalent to the People's Choice Awards, complete with their own set of nominees. It's pretty clear this is CBS's way of creating competition, getting in on the gaming action, trying to snag some money from high-profile sponsors, and getting their own awards show buzz off The Game Awards (who made their own announcements last week). The Game Awards will run on December 6th, while the Gamers' Choice Awards will run on December 9th, so while they may not be going head-to-head, they're definitely competing for industry money, and using the fact that this will be a televised broadcast to make commercial space more enticing.
