Christoph Hartmann Departs 2K Games
Not exactly the news you want to hear from 2K Games.
After helping co-found the company in 2005, Christoph Hartmann has officially left the company after 12 years. Hartmann previously worked for Take-Two before being one of 2K's original founders, and helped make the company a recognizable brand with sporting games, as well as titles like BioShock, Borderlands, and Civilization. A statement was released today confirming the news, but did not state the reasoning for his departure or who would take his place.
"We can confirm that there has been a management change at the leadership level of 2K. For more than a decade, Christoph Hartmann has helped 2K to become an industry leader and we are grateful for his contributions and wish him well on his future endeavors. This change in leadership will have no impact on 2K's current pipeline of titles in development, and we look forward to this new chapter in the history of our label."
While we don't know what plans Hartmann has lined up next, we wish him all the best in his future ventures.
