Dungeons & Dragons' Next Adventure is Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus
This afternoon, Dungeons & Dragons announced their next adventure campaign on the way is Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus. The new adventure will literally throw players into the pits of hell as it takes them on an adventure through the seedy and chaotic streets of Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells, with a mission to see if it's at all worth redeeming. This one is a 256 adventure developed by Chris Perkins that is designed for players Level 1-13. The book is essentially going to be a totally new way of looking at Baldur's Gate that video game fans will get a kick out of while exposing the legendary series to fans who have never known the joys of the video games.
Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus will be released on September 17th along with a custom dice pack (which we'll discuss later today), and will come with an alternative cover. The design, which you can see below, was designed by Hydro74 and will be available only to game stores. It's an interesting way for Dungeons & Dragons to dive back into exploring the Nine Hells and introduce people to planes of existence in the game that are often talked about but rarely visited because they're basically unpleasant and doom people to hellish existence more often than not.
