The Nintendo Switch Version of 'DOOM' Won't Have Certain Features
If you're having some trepidations about what kind of content in DOOM will make it to the Nintendo Switch after being announced on Nintendo Direct this week, you're not the only one. Fans of the 2016 reboot from Bethesda have been wondering how much censoring will be happening to the game when it gets ported over to the console next year. The first official cut to the game was revealed by the publisher this week, and its an odd choice of all the things it could have been.
DOOM for the Switch will not include SnapMap, which is their version of the level builder in which you can create your own areas to do battle in. So far that's the only thing being left out as it appears the physical version will be just the campaign and all of the DLC and multiplayer access will be available for free on the eShop. It's a really weird way to do business, as it makes no sense to not include everything on a single cartridge. (Unless the game is so massive that they could only fit so much onto it.) We'll see this holiday season whether or not that's a turnoff and whether anything else has been removed from the game prior to release.
