Oddworld: Soulstorm Gets a New Gameplay Trailer
Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. has finally released new details, screenshots, and a gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Oddworld: Soulstorm. The developers boast that this will be the first true follow-up game to Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, and will be released for PC and consoles sometime in 2020. The graphics to this game look spectacular, and it kinda makes us wonder whether or not the game will be released on next-gen consoles considering what we're looking at, or if this will simply be one of the last hurrahs for the PS4 and Xbox One before they're put to rest. We probably won't know more until E3 rolls around, so until then, enjoy the trailer!
Oddworld: Soulstorm picks up from where New 'n' Tasty ended. Abe has defeated Mollusk the Glukkon, his former boss and RuptureFarms' meanest inhabitant, overthrown RuptureFarms and liberated workmates. Now, Abe finds himself – along with 300 newly emancipated Mudokons – without food, water or a place to call home. Stranded alone in the desert, they find solace in a strange new brew – a delicious drink that has insidious ramifications for their newfound freedom. Oddworld: Soulstorm will continue to chew up the themes of environmentalism, capitalism, consumerism and addiction that critics and fans found so engaging in the "AAA Indie" release of Oddworld's last pensive platformer, New 'n' Tasty.
