Project Prelude Rune In Developmental Hell With Square Enix
It's rare to see a Square Enix game get defined as being in developmental hell, but that seems to be the case this week for Project Prelude Rune. RPG Site has taken notice of the fact that Studio Istolia, the company that was developing the game for SE has vanished off the face of the planet. Well, the internet at least, as their Twitter has been deleted and their website now goes to Square Enix's main page. This all comes off the heels of the company's producer and president Hideo Baba resigning and essentially handing the game over to his junior staff to complete.
Since that point in time, no real news has emerged about the game and where it currently sits in the grand scheme of things as far as development goes. Which is why we have to classify the game as being in developmental hell, because until SE comes forward and actually tells everyone what's up with the production studio and where the assets for Project Prelude Rune currently are being worked on, we have to assume it's currently in limbo not being worked on by anyone until they decide what to do with it. We'll keep an eye on it to see how this develops.
