QuantumSquid Show Off 'Pylon: Rogue' At PAX West Before Release
QuantumSquid came to PAX West this year with an interesting little title called Pylon: Rogue that was interesting to try out. The game is due out on September 21st, but the devs brought it out to the floor so people could check out the final version of the game before it comes out later this month. The game has a bit of hack-n-slash, little bit of objective, little bit of D&D, and a few other components that make it a unique title to tackle. You get your choice of four hero classes at the start: Moneydin, Ranger, Golem, and Assassin. You then head through a gate into levels that will get exponentially harder as you go.
The goal of Pylon: Rogue is to clear out everything in each area that spawns, collect the gold and gems they drop, find a treasure in some of the areas you clear, and then move onto the next area. The game is also one of the toughest I played on the floor this year as there are very few chances to restore your health, meaning you need to get good and quick as there's little to no learning curve for mistakes. If we manage to snag a copy for review, we'll let you know how the full version of the game looks.
