Target is Being Sued by Atari Over "Foot Pong"

Atari takes their trademarks very seriously, so much so that they don't care how big the company is, they go after infringement of any kind. This time around the company is Target, who has created a version of Pong in their stores called "Foot Pong", which you can see from the video below is a sensor version of Pong near the shoe section where you use your feet to guide the paddles. Unfortunately for Target, they never got permission to use the rights to the game in their stores, so Atari hit them with a cease-and-desist letter for what they called  "an obvious, deliberate copy."

According to Blast, Target responded by saying no, and that they would continue to put it in their stores. So in response, Atari has filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement and are going after Target for the cost of $150k per copyright and $2 million per registered trademark. No word yet about how this will play out, we're guessing Target will eventually take them down or pay out the cost somewhere down the road, because there's no way you can win with something this obvious.
