Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Receives Its First Patch

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has receieved its first patch, while the team also released a new trailer for the Void Shadows DLC.


Owlcat Games have released the first official patch for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, as they have added a ton of new content and upgrades. The team also released a brand-new trailer this week for the upcoming release of the game's first DLC, Void Shadows. We have the patch notes below and two videos for you to check out, as the update is now live.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – Patch 1.2

True to their name, the Death Cults worship the Emperor through the art of death and killing. One such group has worked in the shadows for the benefit of von Valancius for generations, and now they have achieved the attention of the mighty Lord Captain. It is there that the paths and destinies of the Rogue Trader and Kibellah, an outstanding Assassin in the cult,  will intertwine. Find out how strong her loyalty is and whether there is something even deeper and more personal hidden behind it while facing the xeno threat emerging from the bowels of the voidship.

  • Game Balance: Deep rebalance of out-of-sequence turns, buffs to Sanctioned Psykers and Pyromancy, tuning of scaling in the late game and much more
  • Co-op: Play together from the start! Up to two additional custom mercenary characters are now available in the Prologue. Other improvements include custom portrait transfer, save file size reduction, desync fixes.
  • Quality of Life and UI: Improved inventory sorting, tooltips, combat log and level up screen, quests are now marked on star systems, and more.
  • Location and NPCs: Updated pathing, visual effects, cover placement, backgrounds, and improved NPC appearance and variety.
  • Dialogue:  New dialogue for secret companions, fixes and updates for existing dialogue, fixes for epilogue slides.
  • Rumor System: Rumor zones are now highlighted on the map.
  • Cutscenes and Animations: Improved  animations, timing, cameras, additional animations.
  • Audio and Visual Effects: New visual effects for abilities, auras, creature animations, and more, and new sound effects and corrections to VO.
  • New Item Icons
  • Localization: Improvements and typo fixes across all languages.
