These 3DS Adverts Show Off The Console's New Features In The Weirdest Way

In case you missed it, the New 3DS launched yesterday, bringing a whole slew of new features to the aged handheld.

What new features you ask? Allow Mario, Luigi and this old professor teach you in this new series of ads for the console.

Everyone else found those bizarre, right? I'm not just going crazy? I just don't see how the marketing team came up with this 'professor through-line' for the adverts and what it has to do with the new 3DS.

That doesn't mean I don't dig them though. They are pretty off kilter, much as Nintendo are. I also like the idea that Nintendo lockup all their mascots and use them as lab rats for new console features. Mario and Luigi have to shift their weight somehow in between games.
