Brie Larson Says Carol Danvers is Her Ideal Woman in Captain Marvel Plus a New Image

Marvel fans are on the edge of their seats for Captain Marvel. It's a movie that some fans have been waiting for years to see on screen and the fact that it finally comes out this year is a little surreal. It's one of those movies that no one thought we'd ever actually see. It always seemed so far away and now we're a little over three months from seeing it on the big screen. Carol Danvers is a character that means a lot to many people but for star Brie Larson it's her flaws that made her interesting. USA Today shared a new image while Larson explained why Carol is her perfect ideal woman.

"[Carol's] not this perfect ideal of a woman. She's my perfect ideal because she's flawed and she owns those and learns to work with them, and is making mistakes over the course of this movie finding herself – figuring out her past, but also discovering her own strength and power."

There is also the fact that the setting makes this character a little different from others. We get to see a superhero wearing clothes that members of the audience would remember wearing two decades ago.

"It's so cool to play a superhero wearing a Nine Inch Nails T-shirt, ripped jeans and Doc Martens," Larson says.

Marvel is kicking the marketing for Captain Marvel into high gear. We can expect a lot of new posters, images, and TV spots in the coming weeks. Maybe it'll make this wait a little less painful but we can hope they don't show us the entire movie.

Summary: Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
