Showrunner Wants Hannibal Series To Continue As Occasional Mini-Series
Bryan Fuller's Hannibal was quite something. The series has an incredibly dedicated fan base, and while it never lit the viewing figures on fire, it survived for three good series. Still, many certainly wish there was more to the show to come despite it being cancelled.
It seems Fuller agrees. Speaking on Blumhouse's Shock Waves Podcast (via ScreenCrush), the show runner proposed that rather than doing a movie for the series, he'd love to do shot, infrequent seasons. He said:
I think the film adaptation is a perfect film, but there's a lot of interesting nooks and crannies to explore in a television series. I hope we get to tell the story … I think, ideally for the cast, it would be as a mini-series, here and there. Let's do 6 to 8 episodes of that, and 6 to 8 episodes over here. And do it as an irregular thing.
I'd so be down for more Hannibal. Hopefully some kind of deal could be worked out for this, as I'd love to see it come to pass.
