Emily VanCamp Says Sharon Carter Won't Be In 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Sometimes it seems like everyone and then some are going to be in Avengers: Infinity War but there are a few names that are being left off of the list. One of those names is Sharon Carter played by Emily VanCamp. Deadline recently caught up to VanCamp and asked her whether or not she would appear in Infinity War point blank.

But in regards to whether VanCamp will reprise again in Infinity War or a future TV series, VanCamp said, "No idea." How about the Brie Larson feature Captain Marvel? "You guys put it out there," she said, beaming.

Emily VanCamp Says Sharon Carter Won't Be In 'Avengers: Infinity War'It pretty much makes sense. Thanos is a world threatening villain and Carter was involved with the CIA the last we saw her. The CIA isn't going to be able to do much against Thanos. That rules her out for Infinity War but what about Avengers 4? VanCamp doesn't rule it out simply because of how Marvel goes about bringing in cameos.

"With Marvel, they can give you a call the day before you shoot. You don't know what's going on with their movies because they're very secretive," said VanCamp.

She could get a phone call the day before she is set to film because that's just the way things work. There are a number of Marvel projects in the works where Sharon could drop in and it wouldn't feel shoehorned.

One of those places, before the recent season finale, could have been Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Sharon was a glorified cameo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and she went to the CIA after HYDRA fell. However, she was loyal to S.H.I.E.L.D. and if she knew they were coming back she could have shown up for a guest spot.

"I think it was discussed, but I was working on Revenge at the time."

Emily VanCamp Says Sharon Carter Won't Be In 'Avengers: Infinity War'Television schedules can be rough so it's not surprising that schedules just didn't work out at the time. Sharon is a character that is mostly defined by her relationship with Steve but it's also when she's the least interesting. If Marvel decides to bring her back putting her in a different movie would be the best option.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Chadwick Boseman, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, and Anthony Mackie. It will be released on May 4th, 2018.
