Jessica Chastain (Mostly) Confirms Her Rumored Role In 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix'
We have a bunch of X-Men movies coming out next year but one of the most interesting aspects is the fact that X-Men: Dark Phoenix is looking to embrace all of the space craziness that all of the other X-Men movies have avoided up until now. When Simon Kinberg was announced as the director, along with a majority of the cast, it came with an interesting rumor. The rumor was that Jessica Chastain would be playing Princess-Majestrix Lilandra Neramani. It hasn't been confirmed thus far but Chastain posted a very interesting picture to social media that points to it being true.
Until we get some sort of confirmation from Chastain or her management this doesn't the rumors are all true. The post doesn't say who exactly she is playing so she could just have a role in the movie but the wording does imply that she's going to be a villain of some sort. The movie has just started filming so we're going to know one way or another very soon. Chastain is an Academy Award winning actress who can chew the crap out of the scenery when given the right role. The X-Men movies could use a good villain after reusing Magneto so many times and how mishandled Apocalypse was.
Summary: Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn it into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix, directed by Simon Kinberg, stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. It will be released on November 2nd, 2018.
