Keith Sanger? Gill Isles Would Like You To See This…

In the late eighties/early nineties, I studied A-Levels at New College, Pontefract, West Yorkshire. That included English Literature classes. Which is where I met – and ended up spending plenty of time hanging out with – Gill Isles. Incredibly funny, a wonderful writer, a natural wit, she was one of my favourite people. Hell, she still is. We bonded over Rik Mayall.

She also had real issues with English teacher, Mr Keith Sanger, who was very disparaging and patronising over her wish to work in comedy.

Well, if Keith Sanger, author of books such as The Language Of Fiction and The Language Of Drama is reading this, she's got something to show you.

Because, at the weekend, she won a BAFTA Award as producer of the smash hit BBC TV sitcom, Car Share.
