Loki and Valkyrie Face Off In This New 'Thor: Ragnarok' Picture
We have a new image of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) having what looks like a disagreement in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly Thompson talks about filming the scene and how Valkyrie and Loki get along.
That fight was so much fun. So much fun," says Thompson. "First of all. the choreography was really punchy and physical, not as much sword work which sort of keeps you at arm's length with people. I think because Tom's character is involved there's a cheekiness to that fight that made it just really fun — it just felt like a tennis match. I don't know if it remains but there were a lot of one-liners between us. So it has a real sort of sense of humor."
Like most people Valkyrie doesn't see Loki's true intentions right away but does come to her senses when she realizes he's not to be trusted.
"Eventually she figures out Lok's not to be trusted," says the actress. "I just think there's something about two folks that kind of come from the same place in a sense, that have the same chip on their shoulder in a way. There's a thin line between how much they hate and love each other."
This wasn't a dynamic we knew anything about before now but it sounds like they're working hard to make Valkyrie's interactions with various members of the cast feel three dimensional.
Summary: Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor: Ragnarok, directed Taika Waititi, also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Mark Ruffalo. It will be released on November 3rd.
