New Hobbit Collage Poster Features Goblins And The Phantom Of The Opera
Bleeding Cool's film editor Brendon Connelly is away from his desk at the moment, and so I was left with instructions to publish this new collage poster for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and to "work out what that thing at the top is."
The grey creatures that are surrounding Bilbo, Gandalf and the dwarves appear to be the goblins that are encountered during the first third of the book. We learned last month that An Unexpected Journey will most likely cut off after the events depicted in Chapter 6: Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire, so you could say that goblins were to be expected. If you like the look of this poster, you can purchase a copy of your very own over at GB Eye.
However, I confess that I have no idea what that thing at the top is. Its slightly odd facial structure makes it look like the Phantom of the Opera, but it could also be an extremely pissed-off Aslan*. Can any Tolkien experts out there offer a better guess?
*J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were drinking buddies back in the day, which actually explains quite a lot.
